Original name, Rodolfo Alfonzo Raffaelo Pierre Filibert Guglielmi di Valentina D'Antonguolla; born May 6, 1895, in Castellaneta, Italy; immigrated to theUnited States, December, 1913; died of a perforated ulcer and blood poisoning, August 23, 1926, in New York, NY; son of Giovanni (a circus performer and veterinarian) De Valentina; married Jean Acker (an actress), 1919 (divorced);married Natasha Rambova (a manager; real name, Winifred Hudnut), c. 1922 (divorced); remarried Natasha Rambova (separated); companion of Pola Negri (an actress). Career: Actor and dancer. Dancer at Maxim's, the Winter GardenTheatre, the Palace Theatre, and other venues in New York City, 1914-16; dance instructor and chorus boy in musicals, 1917. Worked as a gardener on the estate of Cornelius Bliss, Long Island, NY.
